Eli was appointed as Turquoise's chief executive in October 2007. He
was formerly a managing director in Morgan Stanley's European Sales &
Trading Division, where he oversaw the electronic trading business
for equity and fixed income products. Eli joined Morgan Stanley in
New York in 1993 in derivatives risk management before developing and
leading a business around portfolio analytics and electronic
trading. In London since 2001, Eli served as co-chair of the FIX
Steering Committee for Europe, Middle East and Africa from 2004 to
2006. Eli received his Sc.B. in physics from Brown University in
Rhode Island, and his Ph.D., also in physics, from New York
University. From 1991 to 1993, he was a post-doctoral Research Fellow
at Harvard University.
Adrian Farnham, Chief Operating Officer
Adrian was seconded to Turquoise as acting COO for most of 2007 and was formally appointed to that role in December. Adrian joined from Morgan Stanley, where he worked for 13 years, most recently as an executive director in operations overseeing strategic projects. He oversees market operations and overall programme management for Turquoise.
Yann L'Huillier, Chief Information Officer
Yann leads the development, integration and technological deployment of Turquoise's innovative trading platform, which integrates dark and transparent pools of liquidity. From 2003, he was the senior VP and chief information officer for the Boston Stock Exchange where he led trading system R&D for the LeveL Alternative 'dark book' market and the BeX lit or 'bright book' market. He had previously worked at The Toronto Stock Exchange.
Ian Werner, Head of Legal & Compliance
Ian leads the legal & compliance team at Turquoise, appointed in February 2008. Until last autumn Ian was the Manager of the Compliance and Investigations team at the London Stock Exchange (LSE) where he had responsibility for implementing the Rules of the LSE, investigating rule breaches and enforcing the disciplinary process. More recently he has been providing guidance to the Financial Services Authority on their surveillance system, similar to the one recently announced by Turquoise. Ian who is 39 and a British citizen, trained as a lawyer in his native South Africa.
