Eli Lederman, Chief Executive
Eli was appointed as Turquoise's chief executive in October 2007. He was formerly a managing director in Morgan Stanley's Sales & Trading Division, where he oversaw the European electronic trading business for equity and fixed income products. Eli joined Morgan Stanley in New York in 1993 and was instrumental in developing the US equity electronic trading business, prior to moving to London in 2001 and establishing Morgan Stanley as a leading provider of electronic trading in Europe.
Adrian Farnham, Chief Operating Officer
Adrian was seconded to Turquoise as acting COO for most of 2007 and was formally appointed to that role in December. Adrian joined from Morgan Stanley, where he worked for 13 years, most recently as an executive director in operations overseeing strategic projects. He oversees market operations and overall programme management for Turquoise.
Duncan Higgins, Head of Client Relationship Management
Duncan has worked on the Turquoise initiative since its inception, having served as the UBS representative to the organisation's steering committee. He leads the client coverage, marketing and communications functions for Turquoise. Duncan had worked at UBS for nine years, most recently as an executive director within the Client Trading & Execution business.
Yann L'Huillier, Chief Technology Officer
Yann leads the development, integration and technological deployment of Turquoise's innovative trading platform, which integrates dark and transparent pools of liquidity. From 2003, he was the senior VP and chief information officer for the Boston Stock Exchange where he led trading system R&D for the LeveL Alternative 'dark book' market and the BeX lit or 'bright book' market. He had previously worked at The Toronto Stock Exchange.
Ian Werner, Head of Legal & Compliance
Ian leads the legal & compliance team at Turquoise, appointed in February 2008. Until last autumn Ian was the Manager of the Compliance and Investigations team at the London Stock Exchange (LSE) where he had responsibility for implementing the Rules of the LSE, investigating rule breaches and enforcing the disciplinary process. More recently he has been providing guidance to the Financial Services Authority on their surveillance system, similar to the one recently announced by Turquoise. Ian who is 39 and a British citizen, trained as a lawyer in his native South Africa.
